11x32 8 speed compared to 9 speed

My current RR5.2 has an 8 speed 11x32 cassette. Soon gonna be getting a RR8.1 which has a 9 speed 11x32 cassette.

Which extra gear will this include? Was hoping I'd have an easier granny gear for the harder climbs but doesn't seem that is the case so it must be an extra gear in the middle somewhere.

Not really but you could change it for 11/34.

And which one is different depends on the cogsets. There is more than one version of each.
