More than like needs re-greasing. Take the BB out with an appropriate tool, clean, regrease and it should fix the clicking/creaking.

Mine needs this after a couple of wet rides.

Clicking isn't always a sign its worn out, could just be a lose bolt somewhere, or as above, needs maintainance.

FTR, my BB on my Allez is 10'000+ miles old, and is now in need of replacement, this is because there is a lot of play in the BB.

Regrease what? Presumably its a cartridge bb.

Given the recent weather and riding without mudguards I've had external BBs barely last a winter, so 18 months is actually good going. Firstly, try removing the cranks only and check how the bearings feel - they should feel smooth with no grittiness - if not, they're shot. All external BBs use cartridge bearings - it's a bit of a faff, but you can pop the seals, clean them out and repack them with grease, but if the bearing is worn or corroded, then replacement is the only option.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Just been looking at BB and there are so many that look similar to mine but obviously different in some way,so is there any way of identifying which 1 mine is with out removing it??

This looks exactly like it http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=67221&gclid=CNmn-6mAl7ECFYUKfAodrCfGhQ ,same markings BC1.37x24 ROAD but instead of CD it has HK...

Also what tools will i need for removal?? and is it important to tighten with correct torque or do you just use tools and allen keys and hand tighten?

    cheers

Bottom bracket is specific to your make of crank - if you have Shimano cranks, then any Hollowtech 2 will fit. All external bottom brackets use the same tool - Shimano, FSA, Race Face, SRAM etc.

1 more question....bb tools, ive only seen the handled tools but on bb it has the torque reading so is there a socket to fit to torque wrench or do you nip it up with tool???
