brake hose banjo angle

I've had to replace the brake hose and I... wait... I don't know what the parts are called so I'm going to have to give them names. One is a hollow screw with a hole in the side which threads into the caliper. I'll call this, Bob. The other is a banjo (?) in which the hose ends in, we'll call her Jill. I can't get Bob's hole to line up with Jill's. Does it matter? I've been trying to line the two up...

The original avid one has a recess around bob so oil flows around it - so I've used that. The Superstar parts are slightly different, but on closer inspection, there's room for Bob to jiggl inside Jill. I think your right, doens't matter on either. Cheers0

Yeah that's what I would have assumed. I've fiddled with them before and it's made no difference.0

The point of having the banjo fitting is to make it easy to adjust the angle the hose runs at depending upon frame routing to get a nice smooth pipe without any big curves in it - so it doesn't matter where the bolt goes through at all.0
