Wow, that looks really smart.

I didn't realise any Specialized Allez came with Campagnolo... Did you purchase a frameset and build up? The wheels look absolutely perfect and 34/29 going to be good enough for just about anything.

I am thinking of buying an allez sport as my first road bike. Is it a good platform for upgrades?

bought as full bike. its good for a 1st road bike. tho i prefer koolstop salmon brake pads and michelin krylion carbon tyres for wet weather riding. the seatpost is quite heavy tho the dt swiss axis1.0 wheels are very good. the straight seat stays help give a more planted feel when going downhill than when the allez used to have curvy seat stays. if you can put your budget a bit higher, id think youd be better off with the allez elite as it has the tiagra 10 speed groupset

Thx Bob. I should be the proud owner of a used allez sport right now but the one I went to see was obviously stolen Back to the drawing board.
