    How did you do that?

My mate has a knack of doing that sort of stuff, normally trying some stunt he could do as a 16year old.... 20 years later it works less well!

Nah, very few nerve endings in the shins.

I was 'just cycling along' when I stopped at a pub car park, and thought I'd show my mate how to bunny hop... on plastic pedals. Slip, straight down the front of my shin!

    owch!

guess it's the old rule about more agressive pedals being safer.

Yep, I'd had a couple of slips earlier, should have quit then! Back to the Wellgo MG1s with the big spikes lol.

Neat job on the repair now I do hope you cleaned that with more than water beforehand ...?

Ouch, I do hope you retired to the pub to take on liquids sharpish. You'd have to compensate for the stuff that leaked out of you.
Or were you in the pub car park having already fuelled up?

ohh i had one of those from when i rode on DMR V12's i stupidly only had my tip toes on the pedal, hit a rock, my foot slipped off an my shin slid down the pedal

nasty scar, it coudn't be stitched as it ran along the bone an wasn't enough skin (according to the nurses)

    chicks dig scars though

They do. I have a "nice" one above my left eye which I sustained when apprehending a young scrote who had tried to do a runner with an old lady's shopping. Chicks really dig it.

Not really: I tried to get off a 10p ride before it had stopped, in the Ship Inn in Bridlington, when I was 4 or 5 years old. My dad was the real hero; running with me in his arms across town to the hospital as I pumped blood all over his Ben Sherman. And don't tell Miss6899 that I referred to women as "chicks"; she'd be very disappointed.
