Good Afternoon all,

Firstly I hope that I am posting this in the correct section.

I am currently in the market for a new MTB. I started racing XC and Enduro last year and loved it, although my trusty Giant Yukon FX2 tank is no longer upto the job.

Ive been looking at Hard tail 29ers and have narrowed a list of options and was wondering if I could have your thoughts and suggestions;

Price is really max around £1800.00

Choice 1; Giant XTC 29ER £1529.00

Choice 2; GT Zaskar 9R Elite £1399.00

Choice 3; Cube Reaction 29 GTC Pro £1349.00

---or do i spend a little extra (but is it worth it?)---

Choice 4; Cube Reaction 29 gtc sl £1799.00

Have had a glimpse at On One however have my heart set on a 29er.

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Dan

    I'd test out option 4 - you are getting a lighter frame and better componentry for not much more. The Zaskar is simply poor for that money - the GTC Pro is decent value, as is the Giant. Might come down to what feels best.

    Unfortunatley not in my price range.

    Option 3 and 4 have the same frame (except colour scheme) only have different equipement options. But are they worth it?

    Thank you for your input!

    Have you looked at the Radon 29rs on bike-discount.de? Excellent spec for the money and the look quite nice as well with uderstated graphics.

    those cubes look like the same frame to me but the total bike weight would be a bit lower due to the SID forks on the pricier one. I'm not sure if you are getting as much bang for your buck with the more expensive version, I've heard that the sid's are flexier due to their weight savings....
