This has probably been asked loads before but.
can i put v brakes on my cyclocross bike, i hate cantis!
(kona jake the snake 2010, 105 levers)
i have seen people talk about putting Tekro mini V brakes on so i'm wondering if it is so?
also can you put normal MTB vbrakes on ?

105 STI levers don't have the cable pull for full v-brakes, hence the mention of mini v-brakes.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

you can get strange looking adaptors that in theory let you use road levers with v-brakes. Never used them however. see here: http://www.phred.org/~alex/bikes/brakes.htmlroad0

I tried mini Vs on my Kona Jake - they work well (great modulation, very good stopping power), but you have to run them very very close to the rim.
I think they'd run best on a CX bike being used as a tourer, I'm not sure how they've perform in muddy race conditions.0 -
Running mini Vs on the Kinesis and 200% improvement on the Cantis but they do need to be run close to the rim0

I am also running mini V's on a Dolan Multicross and noticed a good improvment. I used these ones.
