a more upright position??

i've heard that the Jamis venture race 2012, has fairly upright geometry that is more suited to recreational riding, rather than flat out racing. Does anyone have any experience of this bike and its geometry? Also would it be comparable to the cannondale synapse 5 in terms of a more upright riding position? im trying the jamis friday but just thought i would see if anyone had an opinion on it.
