BB no longer spins... That's a bit strange.

Went out for a VERY wet and muddy one on Monday...
Bike was cleaned and put away in the exact same way it always has been. However went to fit my Superstar Chainguide today and my cranks don't spin... well they do... but it's not a proper spinning movement that i'd expect.
Removed the cranks, basically both sides of the BB barely move !!!!
Removed the BB to make sure nothing is i dunno, binding, but once out, exactly the same. Bike has been quiet as a mouse, no issues with BB etc.
Am i missing something here ?

HTII? It happens, bearings fubared. Open them up and they'll be rusty/gunky. You can get a bit more life if you take the cover off carefully, get them moving, and regrease, but they are thin plastic and break easily.
New BB time. I got fed up with Deore and now use XTR, bit pricy but better sealing.I don't do smileys.

Mine have done that before, spinning perfectly the day before, put the bike away and the next day it doesn't move. New BB time.0

I use the SLX ones, bit pricier, but I assume it has better quality bearings/sealing. I could be wrong though...0

Rose were doing XTR for about £17 each, probably worth buying a couple at that price...0

I have been reliably informed that these are the best BBs available.

But a bit pricey. XT/SLX is a decent upgrade, and XTR are even better. Only fancy bit I have on my bike is an XTR BB and no one even notices it. Hidden bling.
But so far has lasted a few years. Deore never lasted more than a year.I don't do smileys.

You haven't worked out yet how cheap I am? £20, a bit less than an XT.
As I have no real life I shop around, and my Googling skills are strong.
But I thought you meant a silly ceramic one.I don't do smileys.
