I nearly forgot there was a tour in Poland, if it doesn't feature on PTP it may well not exist to me!

    No way.

Aw I'm really gutted for the guy. Was in stonking form. Was on the avondetappe and seemed genuinely really excited for the olympics.

Rob Hatch - he's always on twitter correcting/complaining about pronunciations by other comms. Slightly overdoes it, but can't fault his enthusiasm for accuracy.

Why isn't Tom in the TdF?

tom B selected the shorter race to tweak fitness for the olympics road race and less fatigue risk I suspect

He was pronouncing AG2R as "ah jhay der air" yesterday which is possibly taking things too far. Took me ages to work out what the hell he was on about!!

TV production is a bit of a mess this year. No km to go graphic, no time gap graphic, unable to identify Moser for a good 5 mins yesterday, leaving about 20 riders off of GC after today's stage. The inflatables still look nice though.

    And well done Swifty.

Saw a bit of the first stage and agree - the lack of a kms-to-go ticker is bizarre. Surely that is a fundamental necessity of broadcasting a bike race! The HD is lovely, though, even sharper than the TdF pictures.

His pronunciations drive me round the bloody twist - very poncey!

Haven't caught any of this yet - is the scenery any better than last year? Seem to remember it looking very 'eastern bloc'!

Agreed. Watching now - no idea how long is left and whether to watch to the end or go home and watch highlights later.
