Sounds like fun. 8 or 12 hours' riding, for charridy mate? I might try and put a team together.

Presumably Brands Hatch, being a track, would be smoother than 'real' roads? I've been around there in a car on a couple of trackdays, but luckily didn't see the tarmac close-up :)

The tarmac at Brands is fairly good but it is the same stuff as on many pulic highways in terms of material.

There are obviously no significant potholes but it is by no means butter smooth and there are definte rough patches (particularly in the heavy braking areas where the cars ripple it up).

Absolutley fine for cycling on though.

I'm doing the 12hr solo, after getting a taste for it as part of a 4-man team at Ride24 this year :o

Haha, I saw that Ride24 thing... Goodwood's pretty flat though (albeit windy) isn't it? I was thinking that actually 8 hours between 4 people isn't very much. If you say that you'll each ride for an hour and then swap, only two 1-hour stints each. I'm almost tempted to try the 8-hour one myself... but it might be a bit lonely!

I suspect Paddock into Druids will be quite technically tricky, too... it's pretty scary in a car :)
