LBL Ardennen Classic (August)?

I am thinking of doing the LBL Ardennen Classic http://www.lblardennenclassic.nl/english/ (11th August 2012) but I am not sure. Is there another organised ride of the route earlier in the year? (The day before the pro's ride?) If so then although this will still be the same route, does it lose some of the atmosphere?
Has anyone got a view on this?
