going to edinburgh for a few days next week ,just looking for best place to park car.
will be staying some where in city centre thanks
hates dog walkers

    Near where you're staying. Rains a lot and lots of Scotish people to avoid, so the closer the better. Also on that note, if you've got a bike, sleep next to it.

    Have a look at where the parking permit zones finish (on Edinburgh Councils webby) and park outside them, otherwise you end up spending more on parking than on your accommodation. Which side of town kind of depends on where you're staying.

    There isn't anywhere in the middle of town that's cheap really.

    Lots of the in-town parking has a 4-hour limit. Castle Terrace doesn't but is airport prices. Do you need the car while you're here? Excellent public transport... TBH I don't park in the city during the day, it's a nightmare. Park and Ride maybe?
