Strava Segments

Anyone else using strava?

I'm getting annoyed with it now! Tried really hard on a segment today and it hasn't picked it up. The GPS shows me veering off into a field for a bit so it hasn't counted it :(

Working it out from the times at the start and finish I'm about 1min 20s better than my best run, and about 15s faster than anyone else - and it doesn't recognise it - will have to go and do it again tomorrow now

Anyone managed to fix their rides? I found this tool:

http://strava-tools.raceshape.com/snap/

But couldn't get it to work - maybe USA only?

Email support and they fix it for you.

Just worked out how to fix it with that snap tool - you have to change it from bike to car, as the bike routes don't work outside US. Once set to car it works flawlessly. Bit dissapointed though as it's only placed me second, a few seconds behind the top spot!

Will still have to go and do it again now :)

Where's this 'snap to car' feature? Can't find it on my app or on the website.

I record my rides as bike rides and it matches segments pretty well. I'm in the UK not the US.

I had 1 segment that didn't get detected the other day. Normally I'm not bothered but I put some effort into this one. I emailed support and a few days later they emailed back saying they'd matched it.

Follow the link I posted above to the SNAP tool,

Then paste in the URL to your segment.

Then choose the dodgy section using the sliders, at the top there is walking/biking/car - click the car.

Click the button at the bottom which sorts it out and gives you a tcx file to upload. Upload this to back to strava and delete your original one.

In the US you can leave it on biking, but anywhere else like here in the UK you have to change it to the car.

Thanks for the link to the Snap tool.

I was convinced I had got a better time on Friday in the pouring rain on a particularly steep climb, and I did, but 30 seconds, so am finally on the leader-board (only 8th, but I'm pleased with it)
