Once I actually start cycling to work I am going to need panniers. Ideally want some that will take a 15" laptop, change of clothes, and food.

This is to fit a hybrid with 700 wheels and disc brakes.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Hmm, you really need two. A 15" laptop together with the various peripheral equipment (power supply, mouse, cables writing pads, files etc) are actually quite heavy and, when added to the weight of clothes, food, puncture kit, spares and tools etc would be too much for a single pannier.

I use an old Altura Arran pannier on the near side and an Altura Dryline briefcase pannier on the off side. Using two also has the benefit of balancing the load across the rack helping both stability and handling.

It's also useful to loop a cable lock through the handle of the bags and pannier rack when your riding. There's been a number of incidents where some "scally" has tried to grab a pannier of the rack at junctions etc.
