Looking for some advise for new bike

Hi all,
I am looking for some advise. I have signed up to a triathlon next year and thinking about winter training already. I currently have a road bike, and whilst happy to use that in the rain I thought a mountain bike and the local trails would be more fun. Additionally I would like to compete in a couple of off-road duathlon events.
Here is my criteria, the bike will be purchased through Evans cycle to work scheme with a maximum value of £950. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Size wise I am 1.86m so would need a 21" frame minimum I guess.

Thank you for the reply. The following had caught my eye on the internet, wondered if anyone had any thoughts?
Pinnacle Jarah 5; £800 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/pin ... e-ec035898
BMC Sportelite SE01 Deore/SLX; £850 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bmc ... 9#features
Out of the 2 I think that the BMC looks to be better specced. Would people agree with that?0 -
I'd ay the Pinnacle was the better specced - superior fork and lighter wheels.0
