KCNC Crank Bolts...

Does anybody have any of these fitted?

Will these replace the bolts on Shimano FC-M431? The bolts on the FC-M431 need an allenkey to fasten them but those KCNC ones are different... My friend has me some and was just wondering if I need a special tool to fix them?

as the FC-M431 are not HT2 cranks the answer is no."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

You really are wasting your money on things like that.
Alu crank bolts are pretty weak, their sole purpose is weight saving, and with something like the M431 you're barking up the wrong tree there!0 -
I know weight saving won't make a differnce on a bike of my spec just wanting to tarten it up a bit, Wanting a few red bolts etc to finish it off.
Not bothered what the material is aslong as it's suitable for my bike. I know a lot of people are 'anti-bling' lol but it's my bike eh Anyone know where I can find suitable red bolts? Cheers for any help.0 -
Don't do crank bolts.
If you really want to do things like that then do chain rings, front mech, rear mech, headset top cap, water bottle boss and shifter clamp bolts. Anywhere else and you're severely compromising durability if you go aluminium.
Pro-Bolt do decent quality alu bolts.0 -

Then THISis exactly what you need!0 -
I've already got KCNC valve caps, top cap and seatpost clamp. I've ordered a 20mm spacer, Teflon coated gear cables (My current ones are tatty anyway so may aswell replace) bottle cage bolts and I'm going to order some ferrules for both gear cables/brake hoses.
Was wanting rotor bolts but been told centerlock adaptors are better but not sure if they'd fit properly?0 -

They're bang on!0 -
Centrelock adapters won't fit if you have 6-bolt hubs.
Why not make your bike better, rather than wasting money on pointless bling? Just saying...0 -

I'm doing a mixture of both, Currently wanting a new forkas the travel feels a bit too much. 140mm is too much travel for the riding I do aswell. Few quid here and there for some bling ain't noticible even on my sh*t wage lol.0 -
You need to sit down and take a deep breath, then think about what you want to achieve.
Your frame will be designed around specific travel, lengthening or shortening the travel significantly will stuff up the handling, and possible cause damage.I don't do smileys.

I take it 20mm is quite a bit? I'd like to shorten the travel cause the front end feels quite high up. Plus wanting to save some weight and if I get a better/good fork i'll save weight too aswell as making the ride better?0
