We all need to post a message of encouragement and support for the new Wimbledon Men's Champion.

I hope mine will echo with historical significance:
"England expects that every man will do his duty"

    A good telly day today
    - TDF Stage 8, Bradley in Yellow and Chris Froome's win yesterday
    - British Grand Prix, although the Brits aren't doing too well, if it rains it could be interesting
    - Andy Murray (still a Brit at the moment) in the Wimbledon final

He needs much more than our help!

More like he needs a miracle!

It'll be a bloodbath, but I'll be watching the TdF anyway...

That one tongue in cheek comment really did for a surprising number of people. You should try living somewhere where the tongue is nowhere near the cheek when making that kind of comment. Besides, I prefer that gentle banter to Gordon Brown saying his favourite moment in football was Gazza scoring that wonder goal against Scotland.

I like the guy, he's a great player and got a good dry sense of humour. He's also a good sport. Check some of his videos on youtube, he's not as dull or one dimensional as people make out and this is easy to see once he's not in a an interview situation. Doing keepy uppies with a tennis ball and messing about a bit. Similar to Wiggins in that he can come over as being a bit prickly and disinterested but he's just a normal kind of guy. He's no Henman but everyone's different eh.

Anyway, he's a set up and holding his own against the best player the world has ever seen. Not bad for a wee man from Dunblane who has worked very hard to get where he is. Sure you can give him a few good vibes!?

A bloodbath? hmmmm really  oh, im scottish as well 8)
  • I must admit I find it funny that Andy Murray becomes british instead of Scottish when England have go no one in the running. Being Welsh I couldnt care less as tennis is a load of crap to be honest.

Glad its over now anyway, it was the only thing on the bloody news this morning...

Bang on. It'd be far worse for him to make out that he's a neutral just as happy to see England win as the Scots. In some weird ar$e about face way it made me like him more, that he had the decency to stand up for his own country and say what 99% of all Scots think anyway.

He wan't unlucky today, he was second best. Shame for him but his wobbly-lip routine during the speeches might have a swung one or two his way. I hope so - I like him. More should.
