Got to say it but as much as im a SKY man, i take my hat off to Evans not just for being a great rider, but every interview i see of him hes a real sport and gives credit where its due, if hes beat he admits it.

Top geezer. Respect.

He's definitely a guy who gives a great interview and comes across as very personable! And... he likes Helium :lol::lol:

He's definitely matured but I'd suggest you need to youtube a bit. He's had more than a few "wiggo" moments in the past.

But then I like that in athletes so...

Evans is a classy rider, lots of aggression and panache. If Brad doesn't win the Tour I hope Cadel does. He isn't quite as amusing now he knows how to deal with the general public and media though!

I do wonder sometimes whether people memories are short or people really haven't bee following the sport for long, I'm a relative newbie, this is my fourth tour but it's not been long that Evans has been a fan favourite, only since he won the world champs. Even at the tour that year he was a mardy whinging Aussie wheelsucker (according to the internets).

I wonder how people will talk about Wiggins in 2 years.

lol yes! remember the "don't touch the shoulder" tantrum? Becoming World Champion changed him. There is a real before and after with Evans perhaps if we could get the rainbow stripes on the Schlecks they'd transform as well

...or when he pranced around with LA's soigneur/escort/security guy

Yes, since he moved to BMC he grew up a bit. Great to watch him now, although the dummy moments were funny.

That was the team who got the security guy, not him.

I don't think he's changed particularly. He still rides much the same way - It's just the competition have less robot blood in them

True. Not that he didn't like it/need it though, eh. And again, yes, great to watch him as we know now that he has a chance.

He was a reformed character after the World Championship win. He didn't half get his share of jibes about wheel sucking prior to that.

Must admit I like the guy - but like others it was the WC win that changed everything - even for him. When he attacked I remember cheering him on. It seems to have been the making of him, followed by winning Fleche-Wallone. Not bad for an ex MTB World Cup winner...

Can guarantee he won't be giving up with a fight in this Tour either. Great rider.
