Got the chance of buying a set of lightly used Revs with 15mm axle. They are 150mm travel and would be a bit over the top for my Canyon Nerve XC. Does anyone know if its possible to drop the travel with spacers to bring the front end down a bit. I have thought of just running lots of sag but I like a firmish feel to the suspension.

They are the same as these but in black

I'm going to say yes you can from what I've seen. But if it doesn't come with the travel reducer spacers you'll have to buy some. Have a look at the manual on the RS website. You just need to know the right year.

TBH ask the seller. if it is an all travel version then yes it can be.

Seller doesnt know what model it is it came with a bike he bought on ebay but he is fitting his Fox forks as he is a Fox fan. How do I tell if its all travel version without splitting them is there any way of telling.

How new is your Canyon and have you checked the warranty isn't voided (for the frame) by putting a larger fork on? this was something that was pointed out to me when i was thinking about getting the XC and putting a 140mm fork on it, but i never got round to asking Canyon.

Going back to your original post, running loads of sag is not a solution.

unsure, my bike came with a pair of the 10mm travel reducers for my 2011 Rev RL. they are currently set at 140, but i would like to whack them up to 150. i need to pull the air piston out to have a look which i havent got round to yet, but seeing as i have all travel spacers i would hope that i can extend the fork to its max travel.

have you contacted rockshox and asked if its possible?

if the seller does not know what bike they came off RS will not be able to give any more info.

after market ones are adjustable. OE ones depend on what the maker ordered.

I might have this wrong, but I was under the impression if you reduce the ravel with spacers it does nothing to the total fork length (ie it wont drop the front end) ?

When you add spacers it stops the fork extending to its full travel. Add say a 20mm spacer and it will drop the axle to crown height by 20mm.

We think after a lot of trawling the internets that the fork is an OE model and probably isnt capable of being dropped in travel. Pity as its a nice fork barely used and dropping it to 130mm travel would have given the same height as my current Fox 32 120mm travel with 9mm QR lowers fork.

Mine didn't change the A2C height at all.

Should have said on the Rockshox forks I have worked on Reba, Recon and Julie adding travel reducing spacers drops the A 2 C height. This might not be the case on other forks in the rockshox range or other types of fork. Never worked on any other brand of fork so couldnt say about them.

Many forks can be dropped in travel - not all can be extended. You need to look at the air spring and compare to the service manual.

RS/Marz/White Bros have all reduced the AC measurement. and TBH every bit of tech info i have read on most forks shows different AC heights for different travel.

the only way i can see it not changing is where it was not designed to be changed or someone has not read the manual.

can not see the point in reducing the travle but not changing the AC.

You should be able to reduce them in travel-wouldnt have thought rockshox would use a different dual air spring design for different models of revelation? As long as the air shaft design is the same, you should be able to fit the required spacers.
