SRAM X7 Shifter - lever out of whack

The lever on front shifter has bizarrely moved so at the start of its arc it's now almost at 90 degrees to the handlebars instead of lying more or less in line with them.

Is there some way to adjust this and put it back where it's supposed to be, it's getting to the point where I can barely reach it with my thumb, it's so far forward.

Cheers in advance,

BTM

Don't know what you mean. But can't you undo it twist it and do it up again?

Hard to visualise maybe, but the lever is pointing more or less towards me.

Has the shifter body moved, or just the lever?

    Photo makes visualising much easier!

You can (carefully) loosen the bolt in the centre of the lever and retighten, if yoyu can move the lever back whilst it's loose this may fix it!

Be careful. I had the same problem, loosened the bolt ever so slightly and retightned it and the lever stopped returning when i was changing gears. Nothing i did would fix it, i even took the whole thing apart and reassembled it (isn't too hard).

They had to be replaced under warranty (known issue apparently).

PMSL, mine was tight and not returning, loosened and tightened and fixed it!

I had to disassemble my X0 shifter when it broke and this happened, it kept happening and I couldn't figure out why, so I've given up on it and gone back to X7...

Cheers all. Sounds like a case of 'put up and shut up if you don't want to f**k up!'
