Doubts about Boardman Road Team Carbon

I was deliberating between a Boardman Road Team Carbon (new) and a used Trek Madone 3.1 in an earlier thread and having lost out in the ebay auction for the Trek was all set to buy the Boardman but I then started to read the thread about the BB30 problems that this suffers from (and in fairness others makes with BB30). I do not want to buy it and then have it spend lots of time back at Halfords for repair. I appreciate that lots of people probably have no issues at all with the BB30 on Boardmans but it started to niggle at me and so went back to looking at other bikes and was drawn to the Canyon AL 9.0 http://www.canyon.com/_uk/roadbikes/bike.html?b=2505.
Gets positive reviews but is ALU as appose to the Carbon Boardman and its about £300 more money. The Canyon does get Shimano Ultegra though.
Also looked at a Rose Pro RS3000 http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/rose ... aid:530204.
The Rose and Canyon are the same price with very similiar specs.
So is the Canyon or Rose worth £300 more than the Boardman ?? Can't stretch to a Carbon in a Rose or Canyon.
I have been deliberating buying a new bike for far too long - Just need to get one but to me this is a lot of money so want to get the right bike. Help please......

Still think they are overpriced compared to the Boardman/Canyon/Rose.
This Specialized Roubaix http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDeta ... ctID=55950 is £1500 with a mix of Tiagra/105 so more money and less spec. Or are you saying the frame is so much better ?0 -
I have the female boardman carbon bike and it is a great bike to ride and excellent value for money, you get a 12 month warranty so if you do have issues Halfords will repair it within the 12 months. I don't regret buying my bike at all0

I built one of the Roubaix sports today. The frame is really nice, lifetime warranty etc, proper full carbon seatpost, and you know what you are getting with spesh. Halfords are very hit and miss.0

Mmm - not quite my experience. Service levels and competency can vary across stores.
In my experience Halfords will be staffed with spotty yoofs who while being competent at greasing their own hair are less so when greasing a headset whereas the Specialized store may be able to tell right from left, but I wouldn't bet my house on it.0 -
Bike shop quality does vary. One shop put my mates brake blocks in backwards - giving him almost zero braking on a steep offroad descent. Hilarious but dangerous.0

Why the hell would you have to go to Halfords? Lbs or do it yourself!0

Some of the bb30s don't come greased from the factory and need replacing. It's under warranty so not a major issue.
I've not heard of any other issues0 -

I've not heard of any other issues
that was the only thing i could think of but that happens with many bikes being a bb issue and not a frame issue.0
