Hi,

If you was going to buy a budget 29er bike, with the intention of upgrading the components which one would you choose.Which has the best frame or at the "Budget" price are all these 29ers about the same .

Thanks!

    Updated with links .

According to the information I have read the Giant has a Quality frame but with only a suntour XCT fork.Whilst the Dimondback has a better Suntour XCR fork but is probably cutting the cost on some other component's somewhere .

I'm trying to find which is the best rounded budget 29er .But yet still one that has enough quality to be ok to ride whilst I save to upgrade .The giant's forks put me off .
I would go second hand but their is not much choice in 29ers that are close enough to be viable for me to collect .

What's your initial budget? I just got a Focus Black Forest 2 29r and it's great, planning some upgraes for later on but for now it rides really well.
I love horses, best of all the animals. I love horses, they're my friends.

The Coyote is pretty dire, the basic fork and drivetrain really lets it down. The DiamondBack looks much better, nice parts, good fork for the money. The Felt gets the non damped version of the XCR fork so makes for an uncontrolled ride: but the Giant you link to costs £795, double the others? And has a terrible fork.

If you can stretch to it, then this is about the best budget 29er:

Is heavy (they all are at this price) but has a damped fork, hydro brakes and good quality drivetrain.

I'm sorry to say I'd be pushing it at £400 .

Yea I'd go for the Voodoo but I an get the Diamond back for £100 pounds cheaper . I'm being a little impatient has I want to get out on the trials.
By the way this links to that giant bike priced at £399.99 http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/giant-talon-29er-item178557.html?gclid=CIjH-7XQhbECFdIRfAodqH6C3Q
Though it's a Giant Talon 29er 2 the spec looks the same as the bike radar review .I think for now the priority would be a decent frame and forks and for it's price the Diamondback looks good.
