Hi, im trying to unscrew the sleeve on my fox rp23 rear shock to service it.

The problem is it wont budge, I put the top side in a vice and put some rubber grip on the sleeve but no matter how hard I try it wont move.

Any ideas?

This will be the first time its been opened and its about 6 months old.

Thanks.

Sorry to ask an obvious question but you have let the air out I assume? I'm not sure whether that makes a difference but thought it worth checking!!

That is, I know that to unscrew it whilst full of air would be very, very bad, I just don't know if the pressure stops you!!

I let all the air out.

I'll get a strap wrench and give it a try.

You can pick them up for less than a fiver. Personally, I'd buy 2 and use one on each side to make sure I didn't yank the shock out of the vice at a funny angle.

Total waste of time. A screwdriver or something through the eye works just as well.
