Updated my edge 500 and now getting the software missing?

Just updated my edge 500 and now getting the software missing message can anyone help as I'm no techie ???????

    Did you let it do the full update and restart when prompted. Its important you do this. Try doing a soft reset and try again. I have heard that certain 500's are failing on this update. If you call garmin they can tell by your serial number if this is the case. They will exchange the unit by post - take about 5-7 days though.

    I've sorted it now had to reinstall and piss about with a combination of button pressing lol
