Look Keo cleats gripper issue

I have a pretty new pair of cleats for my Look Keo pedals but the rubber gripping area on the front of the cleat has been shredded by the walk i need to do down my steep gravel driveway to get to the road each time I use the bike (and the return trip of course). I don't have any cleat covers - and haven't seen them for sale here - but has anyone managed to repair/replace the rubber gripping area on these cleats or is there anyway of ordering replacements? It looks at if the rubber section is pushed into holes in the plastic so perhaps a replacement is possible... I will keep using the cleats until they wear out but the gripping area does assist me when i am walking so any ideas appreciated.

You can't add another gripper to the cleat but tbh you are better off without it. I find it's one of the biggest causes of Keo 'creak' so actively seek out the gripper free version these days.

Once it wears off you'll still have a fully functioning cleat so don't worry about it.

I walk down a track (about 200 yards) to get to the road and my cleats were nearly disintergrating each time. I used to walk down in my flip flops and leave them hidden in the verge! Eventually I decided to get these covers off wiggle

Weigh almost nothing so can just stick them in my jersey pocket. I would definitely recommend if ur in a similar situation
  • I've never really understood the point of the grips?

thank you all for your help and ideas - these look good but wiggle are out of stock at the moment so I might have to choose the more expensive ones they sell (still less than the price of a new set of cleats though :) ). The main advantage of the grippers for me is that I use the bike and shoes for triathlons too and trying to move quickly wearing bike shoes can get a bit difficult if the floor is slippery or wet from incoming swimmer or bad weather. I have competed at the London tri twice and this involves a long run on a wet, polished floor before you exit the transition area - luckily this is an extreme example...
  • that makes sense. I've just ordered myself some non-grip cleats - I don't walk much in my shoes.

I went with these in the end, have used the seller countless times.
