Where as most people seem to be wanting to lose grams from their bikes I seem to be adding more stuff to mine.

Just added a proper front light with battery pack and a second rear light. So with 2 bottle cages, pump, 3 lights and battery plus seat bag with tube and tools, then to top it off my phone is used as computer it's only going to get slower haha!

Have to work a little harder I think!

It's also upsetting the look of the bike but is nesscersary unfortunately for commuting.

I think people can get a little too obsessed with weight.

If you are using your bike for commuting, you need those things. I wouldn't give it another thought.

Mudguards, rack & pannier ... you've got a long way to go yet ...

I got my top speed on the commute having fitted a rack ... actually it was probably more to do with the 20mph tailwind! ;)

Lots of rubbish with ppl dropping the weight of their bike by a few grams here and there - I can understand the desire for a light bike, but (IMHO) all in moderation - mine isn't the lightest but I've taken a stone off the all up weight since christmas ... yup ... taken off me!

ive got one of those bar thingys that attaches to the seatpost on mine so that a box can slide into it. probably a couple of extra pounds but really cant be bothered to take it off. not sure if stuff like that slows me down enough to bother with
