Carbon fibre tube sets

With all the advantages of carbon fibre mountain bike frames, (weight, strength vibration damping etc.) I would have thought a company would have introduced a set of bike specific tubes by now. Along the lines of Reynolds 853.. Instead, nearly all bikes seem to be made using monocoque techniques. Surely bonding or gluing a mass produced tube set would be cheaper than welding steel or aluminium tubes. Rather like KirkLee bikes.

would be cheaper but not as good. monocoque allows more better characteristics by putting more material where its needed and less where its not, look for an old trek carbon from the late 80's early 90's to find what you are looking for
opinions are worth exactly what you pay for them ;-)
