Another noob lookin for 1st bike

Hi all, I'm looking for a hard tail but only have around £450. What's best for my meagre budget?

    I'd have a look at the Specialized Hardrocks for around that price....or perhaps a 2nd hand Boardman. My friend picked up a mint Boardman Pro for £475

    Got to be a Voodoo Hoodoo around that price I reckon. Way better spec than a Specialized.

    Carrera range in Halfords, or the Voodoo Bantu or Hoodoo - all good bikes at their respective price points. Rockrider 8.1 from Decathlon is the other popular shout.

    Don't forget to budget for a good helmet, and other accessories like toolkit, repair kit, inner tube and lights if you intend commuting too.
