free photo programs

are there any good free photo manipulation programs out there? I like Instagram but isn't that only for iphones?

    Depending on how much you want to do, I use Irfanview (www.irfanview.com). Simple crop/rotate/saturation type tools, works very well.

    What can you do in Paint that you can't do in PS?

    Of those listed, Gimp's probably closest to Photoshop and, therefore, the best of the free programs.

    They've all obviously never used Instagram, all those things mentioned need to get the photo from your phone to computer, and edit manually .. you need http://pixlr.com/o-matic/.

    This just put a few filters over your photo so it's instant (as in Insta-gram), and you can just keep randomly changing them till you get something you like, or you can choose manually. There's also an android app so you simply take the photo, and an edited version is ready to upload a minute later.
    All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!
