I'm sure there is probably a petition going around the commuters to ban this film.

any film that portrays sport or any kind of pastime that involves a technique gets the details wrong - usually anything with scuba or rockclimbing there are howling mistakes... but fun all the same

this film is probably the death knell of any hipster sensibility on riding a fixed (good I say, I hate being considered trendy)

I must admit that I am looking forward to that.

Not looking forward to the Daily Hell response though.
Actually. Don't read it. Will probably miss it and don't care.

Worried about their readers with cars though. :(

Looks like Sony have packaged together two You Tube classics and put the result out as an original movie ie Way Back Home and London Calling. And just like everything Hollywood does- it has to relocate the setting to the USA and give it an American hero.

When she shouts, "Wileeee!" I was wondering why it sounded familiar.

Sooooo.... I was invited to go see the preview of this last night at Sony's HQ, it was actually pretty good! Few cheesy moments but actually quite a good chase film. They obviously got a load of cyclists into a room and went, "So what do you lot argue about?" As constantly throughout it's fixie vs gears and helmet or no helmet... But other than that, worth a view.

Put bikes in a crap film and it wont make it any less crap. If you like your films to be crap, it looks like you'll have another crap film to watch though, but with bikes in.

Is it a crap film then?

I think its safe to say, in this instance from the trailer alone, that it is crap. Id also wager it will be sh1t.

Id also guess any cycling feats in it will be 'out done' 100 times in looking up tricks on youtube for a few mins, and any 'implied' feats as part of the story will be far-fetched and crap. Often these implied feats will be very very exciting though, and the best way to make them exciting will be to film the sheer enotional overload in the actual expression of the relevant riders face whilst he/she is riding - this will most likely done by towing the rider along on his bike welded to rig on the back of a truck with a camera crew / various cameras / booms etc...

I wouldn't want to give away the plot though. So let's just say it will be predictable, formulaic, and crap.

So you've not seen it then but feel the need to judge. This is t'internet i suppose.
Some people like to chill out and watch some entertaining nonsense to get away from the realism that is real life. Some don't. Each to their own.
That said it could indeed be sh!t but I'd watch it before I judged it.

Im am having a laugh :) not posting a review, I thought that was obvious?

But, I don't need to see it to judge it... I can tell its a formulaic action film with the odd heart-string in it instantly, and those kind of films are 99.9% of the time crap. This will not fall in to the 0.1%.

If people like to watch this kind of 'entertaining nonsense' as you call it fair enough, I was just commenting it will be crap, but I know some people will watch crap films, any films.

Yep, amazing. Have you seen those oddballs who ride about on them ? They grunt a lot when you pass them, speshially if your going uphill.
