Just bought this, moving away from mile munching and taking my riding in a direction i've not tried for a few years. Always fancied something small like this for street and dj duties but never been able to afford a really sorted one until now and this came available at the right money.
Frame: Cove Sanchez
Fork: Rock Shock Argyle 409
Wheels: Mavic Deetraks
Tyres: Maxxis Larsen TT
Bars and stem etc: Race Face Atlas and Easton Havoc, Spank grips, FSA the pig dh headset.
Seat and post: SDG Bel-Air and Push post
Groupset etc: Sram X0
Cranks and pedals: Race Face DH, DMR V8 mags
Will be fitted with full deore brakes shortly but running just rear deore at the minute.
Love how it rides and enjoying my new enthusiasm for riding. I just need to build my confidence, my ability doesn't match the capabilities of the bike - i'm not 15 anymore, i'll get there though.

lovely looking bike, i wouldn't mind something like that again, get back into riding park. it's good fun if you don't have the time for a full on XC ride0

Thanks, will be doing all i can with it, park, street, dj. I'm just into the idea of chucking it on the back of the car and going for a thrash somewhere for a bit without getting all your gear on for hours of trail riding. As it is i'm just as shot after an evening on a pump track!0

Nice, I quite fancied building something similar up myself just as a plaything. In the end though, budget decided I should get the BMX instead.0

Nice bike,
I'd stick with just the rear brake, the stem looks a tad long, how does it manual? whats the weight?
looked at getting some Argyles for my DMR but the zocchis are really smooth.0 -

Weight - not found out yet - its not stood still since i picked it up!
Manual - :? will tell you once i've got them dialled! I already suffer a bit with my knees and binned a manual onto my knees a few years back(pads on the way), reluctant to repeat that but it felt right to me on the rythm sections earlier.
It will ride a treat on some trails nearby, hence the front & rear brakes. It looks clean as it is and like it but just that back brake won't reign in enough speed when needed.
Still tweaking the argyles as occasionally(this could be skill related) it feels like the front ends about to smash me in the face on fast rythm sections, i wondered if they rebounding to hard?
I'm a bit new to the jump and pump thing so any constructive pointers are appreciated.0 -
Yeah both brakes if your trail riding as well, your Argyles sound like the rebound (red knob, bottom of leg) is too fast, slow it down a bit but if your trail riding as well your gonna have to find a happy medium as if the rebound is to slow your front wheel will tuck under in corners (wash out) more easily.
Jumping a DJ is totally different to a Full suss, practice on a small jump, push the bike with your arms and legs into the transition, as you come off the lip pull your knees up, this will increase your height, do it small at first and work at it.
If your hitting the vertical type dirtjumps you don't need to pump as much as the jump shoots you up and out, on these you need to push the front end down into the landing.
Pumping through rhythm sections, try to keep your torso static and move just your arms and legs, don't dive down with your body into the whoops just push and pull with arms and legs.0 -
Have to admit i want one of these! Just figured out where my local pump tracks n all are and want to go play, though nothing near the house unfortunately0

Brilliant fun and you can just mess on the front street pull whips and manuals etc, as Mcjnmny I got mine cause you just get sick of travelling for hours just to ride.0 -

The biggest factor that made the decision easy was that i have a pump track less than 5 minutes ride from my house! As above though i can do a bit of street ( i've a small street park nearby too ) and i've got a small gravity/dual trail near work that i can have an hour on after work. I'd rather have an hour round the bmx track or a few cracks at a gravity fed trail than plugging away on some XC ride right now.
In all honesty i hadn't thought of getting one just yet but i walked in the shop and it was just there and all the cogs started whirring!
It even rides really well with the seat up for a ride out with the mrs, the wide bars make it really comfortable just not so much that i would go much further than just round the local area.0 -
Small update, now with Clark floating rotors and pink cables/hoses and an ignitor on the front as i didn't have any confidence pushing the front end in the corners with the larssen up front.
All up weight - exactly 28lbs - happy with that.0
