Its Lidl bike week this thursday.

Do you reckon this would hold up to do a few minor things on my bike? i.e pump tyres, adjust deraileur etc without needing to by the full work stand?

What about the maintenance stand? I'm getting one on Thursday - it looks pretty good. Surely that would suit your needs better than a wall bracket?

Its obviously going to hold the bike on its own, so as long as your not swinging on it like a deranged ape then I'm sure it'd be alright. Whats stopping you pumping the tyres up on the floor btw? :p

I've just built my new bike using just a tennis ball tube to prop up the bottom bracket with the front wheel on the floor. Worked perfectly, except that I had to do most of the work on the floor which was ok as I was in my bedroom anyway lol.

If you just want to do quick adjustments, maybe have a look at the "travel stands", think they do the same job as a full workstand but are much cheaer. Something like this? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... tedKingdom
Although for that price then you might aswell get the Lidl one.

Got the maintenance stand today - absolutely brilliant. Rock solid, loads of adjustable bits, and just great for cleaning/modifying bikes.

Also got the cycling shorts, top and gloves - also brilliant.

ALSO got wireless computer and saddle bag with tools - amazing.

Total price? £35. I think £35 very well spent!
