Hi peoples, just wanted to know what people thought of the Scott Scale 40 frame. I would like to replace my aging Orange E-six. Any other similar suggestions also welcome.

Thanks

They're alright, I'd far sooner have a Whippet instead.

Heard good things about the Whippet's, good suggestion. Will look into them some more.

Any reason the Whippet over the Scott? I assume that the 40's are the same geo as the carbon version's.

Carbon frame... alu frame... I'd have the carbon one.

I have a Scale 50. Absolutely love it, it's light, stiff and has perfect geometry for my style of riding. Give one a try as they're easy enough to find.

Nice frame, lovely ride and nice climber; however, I did purcahse a Trek 8500 frame over it.

Yeah i do have a local shop that im sure will have them to ride (had a lovely spark last time i went in) So why did you go for the 8500 over the 40 in the end?

Did you buy just the frame or complete? I am looking at just getting the Scale frame, wanted to compare against the Trek, but can't find one as a frame.

I bought just the frame. It is quite difficult to buy Trek frames, but a decent dealer should help you out.

    8 Series frames are 500GBP

Nice price and thanks for the info, i think my LBS are Trek dealers. Still wanna look more into the Scale though, but your Trek option is looking very good too, thanks.
