hey all,
managed to tear my self away from window shopping for bikes long enough to ask you fonts of knoladge (some spelling lessons would be good too. ) a question. what sort of performance difference can you expect between alivio and deore gear sets and what would be the equivelent of other makes.
cheers all paul

Or to rephrase, which models, and what do you mean by gearsets, cranksets, cassettes, mechs?

No discernible difference, really.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, nobody really makes a bad setup any more. So just keep checking out bikes in your budget.0 -

Worry more about the forks. They make the biggest difference.I don't do smileys.

they should both work fine, really deore should work better for longer but in practice it will come down to how much you look after them and how hard you ride.Blood, Sweat and 21 Gears...wait...no 27....30...arse 2x10?
