Tony Martin - Hard Man!!!!!
Riding with a broken scaphoid, albeit in a plastic cast.
Amazing!
I broke my scaphoid and even with all the will / money / ambition / prestige in the world, I could not have imagined sitting on a bike - the pain when using the wrist even a tiny bit was horrible, and I really am not soft!
Hard man indeed - massive respect for this nutters who call themselves pro cyclists!

Pretty standard practice for pro cyclists to ride with 'minor' breaks, national hunt jockeys are the same. They'd lose too much of their career if they dropped out. Wasn't it Tyler Hamilton who ground his teeth down riding with a broken collar bone on a mountain stage? OK, he was doped to the gills but I don't think EPO acts as a painkiller!0

And if you have spent a load of cash on doping, you don't want to waste your money!0 -
It's been a bad Tour for him already which is a shame - when I saw how slim he looked before the start on Saturday I thought he may be a dark horse but no luck at all. Shame as I like him.0
