My housemate wants a Reebok bike from Argos for £79. REEBOK! I have tried to get her to see sense, and showed her the bicycle shaped object blog, but I don't think I'm winning. She may get a second hand bike from one of the bike shops nearby but if that fails I will have to buy her anew one. What would you recommend? Boardman perhaps?

My girlfriend has a Specialized Ariel. I havent ridden it but she can maintain a good pace on it and it looks like a ladies bike (which is important apparently) they always seem to be heavily discounted too, think hers was about £350

My wife has a Spesh Vita and really likes it. It has served her well on her commute, every day-all weather, and also on the odd 50 miler at w/e's.
