Not getting on with 23mm tyres

Can anyone recommend me a reasonable alternative tyre for an Allez Elite please? Road surfaces are so poor near me that the 23mm tyres are becoming a problem and spoiling otherwise good rides with vibration etc. Will a 'softer' 25mm be better of do I need to go even bigger? Thanks

I would go with 28s if you have the clearance, otherwse go with 25s. You will certainly notice the difference in comfort and you ay well find your performance and hanling improves as well.0

What pressure are you using them at?More problems but still living....0

Double bar tape above the shifters (take off the tape on the drops to the shifter then put decent gel bar tape (fsa is the current favourite) onas you would normally ... It creates a mild wingbar effect with extra dampening on the hoods and tops ...
That plus better shorts ...0 -
Running at around 90, dropped them down a bit and it hasn't really helped. If I go for the 25 or 28 tyres are there any particular tyre I should be looking at? And naive question is there much to in the brake area to adjust to allow for the extra mm's width?

If u can afford it Vittoria Paves 24mm and sublimely comfortable - do a search for numerous previous threads.0

Not ridden 28s but I did stick a 25 on the back of my winter commuter it made the a huge difference to ride comfort so much so in fact that it took a few weeks to stop thinking I had a flat.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

given the current weather also bear in mind if you're running mudguards then you might struggle with 25's and 28's with some types (it's why I still need to run a 23mm on the rear of my winter bike rather than preferred option of 25s).0

90psi seems low for a 23mm tyre and running them softer runs the risk of pinch flats.
110 - 130 is more likely to give the best performance but will not be as comfy as a 25mm at 90psi.Yellow is the new Black.0
