1.95 on a 2.0 min rim?

I'm thinking of running spesh renegade tyres on my stans flows, as I need a really fast tyre for a big 160km ride coming up. Its going to be mostly chalk, flint, grass and hard pack but lots of hills. Typical xc. The min tyre size recommended on my stans is 2". 1.95 is less than 2mm so wondering if I can get away with it?

Sorry to hijack your thread...but I've got the opposite probelm/query;
I want to run a pair of 2.35" Kenda Small Block Eights on SunRingle DS2-XC rims. Can't find out min or max tyre sizes anywhere but the internal width is 17.5mm and external is 23.4mm
Would this work?

Can't see why it won't work if you have the clearance in your frame. They might not work optimally and the wider the rim the less roll from side to side.
Do the tyres give any specs on rim width?0 -
it says : ETRTO, 58-559
I believe 559 = 26" (?) - does the 58- part mean rim width??"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

EDIT: Due to some unbelievably complicated french system, yes, 559mm or 22 inches equates to a 26 inch wheel!0 -

Oh, only just worked this out :oops: - I guess that's the actual tyre width...58mm = 2.3". So manufacturers do state the actual tyre width"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes
