Excellent ^^ news - another 30 or 40g saved

Let all the air out of your tyres. As Hydrogen and Helium are lighter than air, you'd save even more weight by simply running nothing in them. Watch out for rolling the tyre off the rim on the corners though

As the OP is full of hot air then that must surely provide some lift?

Also, anyone with half brain would know many of the suggestions here are ridiculous, so if the OP was to follow them then they clearly have less than half a brain therefore saving several hundred grams more.

We're missing the big picture here people - ditch the bike altogether and run, that saves almost the weight of a whole bike!

I was thinking exactly the same thing last night. Perhaps we could become business partners and sell this as a weight saving product

Was that circumcision, the snip or a full-on sexual re-orientation?

Why carry fluids in the first place?
I'm sure there are plenty of shops on your rides - so just carry paper notes and drop any coinage change into the charity box?

  • Better yet write an IOU at the shop and carry nothing.

I just wasted at least 5 minutes of my time reading this whole thread. I am most annoyed.

OT: Can't you just strap on the bottles with elastic bands? That'll save some weight ;)

No one has mentioned that ti bolts weight more than alloy ones of the same length and width.

  • How are ti heavier the alloy?

    - Cut all labels out of your clothing.

    - Remove all paint and transfers from your bike.

    Saved yet another gram.

Because titanium is heavier than aliminium.

May be the OP already has a 953 frame without the need for paint or stickers :D

Is it possible to put helium in your inner tubes or tubeless tyres?

No, It's less dense so you would just have to put more in to achieve the same pressure. resulting in you wasting alot of money on helium.

You could fill the frame with it though.

I find that if you eat a whole jar of Jalapeno peppers the night before your ride, your stomach will pretty much reject everyting you put in it. Your bum hole will work overtime, but your body will hold on to some nutrients while discarding everything else in liquid form.

I have just bought x2 Tune Skyline Carbon Bottle Cages at 5g each, my plan is to take my nano drill and shed the weight of them to at least 3g each or possibly less, I feel that the alloy bolts that come with them are just excessive weight.

Could anyone recommend any hollow plastic, ti ect bolts that are lighter?

Also do you think I could get away with just having one bolt in each cage really tight?

    Thanks for the help

But that will cut through the fibres, destroying the integrity, I wouldn't bother.

remove testicles and appendages? I have my tonsils? is that a bad idea.

You must be a tester! swap that 12-25 for a 11-21.
Don't donate your organs, sell them so you can buy more carbon. Don't put the cash in ypur pocket though!
Get rid of the bottles and cages. Surely dehydration means you're lighter?
Don't forget to pick your nose!

Here's a thought... You could get a life but aren't they heavy? :D

    Nitrus oxide?

Naah you're havin' a laff.
  • If you were to drill holes into the rear/back of the tubes on the frame, surely this would reduce weight without affecting aerodynamics?

This thread is a lie. I own the world's lightest bottle cage, it's called my jersey pocket.

How much does your pocket weight then?? If you had no pocket then i bet your jersey would be more than 5g lighter :P :P

A jersey weighs too much, body paint is a lot lighter but a painted chamois does not stop the chafing

  • Body paint is too heavy join a nudist club, and helmets are just unnecessary weight.
  • We're forgetting that most of the bike is redundant anyway. Get a unicycle.

And why on earth do you have pedals and cranks? Beans for energy, flatulence for propulsion. Belch violently for braking.
