They've remade it, here's the trailer:

Looks like it's taking itself a bit more seriously than the original, though any film with Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel in it can't be all bad :)

I hate cinemas as you have to associate with the masses so I wait for everything to get to TV.

Except the 'book' is just a short story. With pretty much nothing of the movie in it.
There was a novel, but that wasn't written by Philip K Dick, and it was based on the movie.

Come on, surely it'll be rubbish?

Cooldad is right, if you wait long enough it'll be on ITV 16 times every week.

Trailer looks quite good, but I'm getting a bit sceptical about all these remakes as there have been a few big disappointments in the past. We'll find out in August...

Funny that one of the film companies releasing this is called 'Original Film'

    Ironic, isn't it?

Not only is it called Total Recall, but the trailor doesn't half smack of 'I, Robot', too!

Can never have Verhoeven's satirical take and sleezy style though. Serious is fine but his stuff is a right laugh if you get what he's doing, and for the time used to be fairly justified of an 18 cert (think I saw it underage at the time and was quite proud of that). Though uncut Robocop is better for senseless continual violence.
