bike ideas/ help

hi new to forum...pardon me if i sound right daft.

been riding round trails for a year or so and have a GT avalanche 3.0
thinking of getting another bike as i have started to wreck this one..

i usually ride trails like glentress. been hearing good things about the 29ers but have no idea.
in my head i have been considering a hardtail 29er or a full suspension like the rockrider 9.1, i have clearly no idea of the benefits of each.

for riding mostly trails and the odd cross country thing, what would be the most ideal bike,
