Hi
Thinking of buying some of these for racing on.
Been using pro race 3's but they seem to cut up easy.
Anyone used the 4's and how did they perform?

  • Ribble are doing a promotion where if you buy 2 Michelin Pro 4 Race tyres you get a pair of Lithion2's free. Bit of a no-brainer if that's the way you're headed!

Bought a pair of Lithions 3 years ago: were absolutely lethal in the wet. Went straight into the bin.

We're not talking about Lithions, we're talking about PR4s, which if the 2's and 3's are anything to go by, should be very fine tyres. I love Pro Races. Lithions are a totally different tyre.

Grip and roll like Pro3's but have a slightly harder compound and a thick band across the middle which reduces cutting, improves puncture protection (I'm assuming, I haven't punctured mine anyway) and helps with grip on the corners as it flattens the curve of the tyre when you lean the bike over (meaning more rubber on the road).

So far I'm really liking them wet and dry.

Michelin Pro Race 4 tyres feature in a group test in the current issue of Cycling +

They are rated on a par with 2 of 3 the "winners" and seem to be favourably regarded by the reviewers. Lose out overall to the Schwalbe Ultremo ZX HD tyres but certainly they are no slouches and appear to have better reliability than the Pro Race 3's

J.E. James Cycles currently have them on offer at £26 just now if this helps.....The Krylion Carbons were great tyres as well. i just hope Michelin have got a replacement for them in 25c.
