Mixing headset cups

I am thinking of changing the headset on my Marin to get a lower stack height.
My current one is an FSA big fat pig and the top cup alone has a stack height of aprox. 20mm.
What I was wondering was is there any problem fitting just a new top cup and leaving the bottom one so that I can keep the current gap between the crown and the downtube to avoid them clashing, but go for a zero stack top cup.
I know it is possible buy a hope top cup on its own from Chain reactions but just want to know if having miss matched ones will cause problems.

Sure, no probs at all. Must be the whole cup and its fittings though.0
