You may have noticed, that there was a little do down in South America recently. Saving the planet and all that.
What gems has it produced?
Well, how about this.
39. We recognize that the planet Earth and its ecosystems are our home and that Mother Earth is a common expression in a number of countries and regions and we note that some countries recognize the rights of nature in the context of the promotion of sustainable development. We
are convinced that in order to achieve a just balance among the economic, social and environment needs of present and future generations, it is necessary to promote harmony with nature.
One can only assume, that our taxes have been spent supporting a load of spliffed-up hippies.

Not so much hippies as oil men in hippy clothing. That quote you put up comes across as entirely inauthentic.

    This^

A wishy washy statement that acknowledges that the planet might matter. No sh!t Sherlock.

Interesting comment from a greenpeace spokesperson on the news about progress in talks on the environment. Basically, when governments say they are making progress, it actually means they have successfully watered down or removed a part of an agreement they don't like.

5 star breakfast, jibber jabber, 5 star lunch, yak yak, 5 star dinner and drinks.
    And repeat.

    No action.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

it's the sort of blather produced when a bunch of people who knew beforehand that they would never reach any meaningful agreement to take required action, even if it were in their power to do so, which it isn't, eventually produce in an attempt to justify the time and resources they all just wasted, so that they can all feel warm and fluffy
