Hi all

As above thinking of changing to a 2 x 10 setup with a 24 and 38. But I can't seem to find anywhere selling the SRAM chainrings. Thought I'd see if I can just change the granny for the 26 and the middle for the 39 and remove the large ring and get the SRAM bash. Has anyone done this already and if so where did the parts come from.

    Done it!

    Running a 24/36 + mrp Bash.

Simply took off the 42 and 32 and got a shimano 36 with 104 bcd. Installed, added the bash and rode away.

Oh so it's a nerve am 6. I had xt fc-m780 cranks with 24/32/42 chainrings on my nerve am 7.0 and did the mod as described above.

check the BCD should be 104mm and source any suitable rings. if the BCD is the new dimension Sram BCD then good luck.

    Ok thanks folks.

Need a new bb now aswell so by the time I've got that and 2 new rings its not far off a new Sram x9 2 x 10 crankset rather than a bodge.

But it will still be a "bodge" really unless you change the front mech and shifter as well.

I'm actually doing the same with my 2012 Nerve AM 6, but planning to go 34/22 and put a Hope lightweight bash on instead of the 42 (2012 AM 6 has Deore cranks 42/32/24).

SLX 36t chainring is 25 at CRC, SLX 24t is 9. Bash is 25-35 depending what brand you want. New BB probably 25 quid. Still a good 50 pounds better than buying a new crank. Still, I like new gear as much as the next man...

    Matt,

I guess the SLX rings will shift ok with the rest of my SRAM X9 kit?

yes but you may need to take a file to them to get the to seat correctly on the spider.

indeed, that's what I'm doing. A bodge that works, but still a bodge?
