Rose Bikes Xeon CRC 3100 (Di2)

I haven't seen any of these on my local roads yet, so thought it would be worthwhile sticking a picture up
This is outside Eureka Cyclist's Cafe this afternoon, got wet on first ride out, just couldn't resist going out, but from here on this is my dry weather bike.
Just like every review told me, Di2 is sublime, absolutely 100% sold on it. Frame is stiff yet somehow comfortable and I'm very happy with it.

Nice, don't fancy de-stickering and going for the stealth look :?:0

Interesting thought that hadn't occurred to me, but I'm quite keen on the contrast of the lettering on the Carbones. Haven't figured out how to use the supplied Mavic valve extenders yet, tried pumping up just now and the air was leaking out as fast as I was pumping in. Think I'll go for some 80mm inner tubes and do away with them!0

Wow, flattered, thanks I only specced it though, merit goes to Rose Bikes, I'll pass it on0 -
Nice indeed. Couple of questions, what pump is that and secondly if you find a way to keep your stealthy black frame looking good let me know please.0

It's a genuine innovations carbon pump, I bought two of 'em when they were cheap a while back. Great pump that you can use conventionally or plug a CO2 cartridge into.

Matt carbon can be difficult to look after, but today was quite a grotty day and it came up fine with some baby wipes. I also have some matte helicopter tape that I plan to place on vulnerable areas of the frame. It's important to get matte tape as it won't look like a glossy patch on the frame.0 -
Like a beautiful cervelo r5CA0

Very nice.
I'm hoping to order a Xeon CRS-5000 also in matte black with Cosmics very soon.0 -
You need a stealth drink too...
I really like the paper thin the seat stays, and agree you should take the stickers off the wheels to finish the look
Its an excellent price for the bike too.0 -

That's the thing, I think the future for bicycle retail might shift massively to direct to market. I don't think shops can compete, they'll need to focus majorly on customer service.
The bike came in at a whisker over £2600, that includes the Carbones and the rather nice Selle Italia SLR seat. The finishing kit is all Ritchey WCS, tyres are Continental Attack and Force. I don't think I'd have got anything nearly as interesting or highly specced from the High Street unless I happened on a one off sale like you do sometimes see.0 -
Veary nice looking bike. Id be tempted to de sticker everything and make it all black.
Whats that below the RH lever? Is it the trigger for the Di?Rock 'n' Roule0 -

Just a little Zefal spy mirror, dead handy when riding in a group to know if someone is getting dropped.0 -
*shakes head*
A mirror? You might as well put a stand and a bell on it.
Sacrilege.

hehe, yeah, a mirror - get over it
Very, very useful, and before anyone asks, no - I don't use it instead of a proper shoulder check!
Went out on first proper ride today, another wet day, so much for my new dry weather bike! I went up to the hills around Llandegla and Horseshoe pass, surprisingly the Cosmic Carbones don't seem to be any handicap (compared to my RS80s) in the hills according to Garmin ride data over a 70 mile ride.0 -
So what tips do you have for looking after matte black frames? I didn't consider they'd be any different to a normal painted frame.0 -
I just use baby wipes. This frame is UD black, you can essentially see artefacts of carbon. It's not a perfect finish and it changes based on angle of view etc. I don't consider it to be a problem to look after now having used it. I will put some helicopter tape down though.0

Your Rose bike looks great and I'm thinking of ordering one. I prefer black with yellow graphics though. How long did the bike take to come after you ordered it and what was the service like from the company? Any advice? What size is yours? I'm 188cm tall so not sure what size to order.0

Hi- I'm looking at getting exactly the same bike as well, but am also considering the canyon, since it gets so many good reviews and there dont seem to be as many for the rose. Also, have you weighed it?
Oh yeah and I forgot- great looking bike, and much more interesting than the standard trek, specialized, cervelo, etc0 -

Sorry for the delay, been away on hols!
Bike took about 4 weeks, I ordered it on a German bank holiday and they also had a fire in their factory which coincided with my order, so perhaps it might usually be quicker.
Automated Communication was a bit poor, by that I mean no email confirmation of order, not even anything on the site in 'your account' section at first, but it eventually showed up. But if you write to them, you do get a friendly response. But I'm used to an instant email confirmation, no idea why they don't do that.
Mine is a 57CM and I chose 110mm stem and I went from a 56CM Dolan with same stem and fit on the Dolan is more stretched out that the Rose but it still fits me perfect (I'm 6ft 1inch and 34" inside leg).
Definitely upgrade wheels when you buy, you get an amazing deal. I was disheartened looking at the competition from other bike manufacturers/suppliers, they essentially give you 'disposable' wheels, the equivelent of putting some plastic pedals on your £3000 mountain bike, they know you're going to upgrade them. But with Rose, you get the wheels you actually want rather than a pair to put on your winter bike.0 -

It weighs just under 8GK with Ultegra SPD-SL pedals and the wheels as pictured. Quite happy with that. Not that many reviews out for Rose, but Cycling plus recently put one out for essentially the same bike (at least the same frame anyway). I personally don't put much stock in magazine reviews anyway, if I did, I'd probably have ended up never buying the Dolan that this replaced!0 -
Is that an Elite Custom Race bottle cage? Is the one Rose stocks matt or gloss black?0

Black/white from here http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/a ... -cage.html0 -
Do you have any more pictures from different angles?
I'm still trying to decide on the frame colour. I've seen a pic of it in white and it looks very tasty indeed, but I really want stealth black too.

Had my own for 2 weeks now, Ksyrium wheels though, great ride, Di2 is awsome especially on the hills, change is perfect every time. Great bike0
