1x9 set up

Any advice on a decent, cheap 1x9 set up?

Got a Boardman HT Pro frame which is really light, so want a nice, light hardtail build!

This is my first build, so any advice would help.

    Entirely based on you really.

    Do you prefer sram or shimano?
    Would your budget cover XTR/XX or is more along the lines or slx/x7?

    Personally I'd got for either 2x or 1x10, but that's just me.

    Havn't got a preference to be honest.

    I'm on a really tight budget, part of the reason is to learn the mechanics of a MTB.

    My budget seems to point towards 1x9.

    I've got a full sus Anthem, so a nice lightweight 1x9/10 HT seems to be a good opposite.

    If you wanna buy any of that gimmie a shout, open to negotiation on selling some of it off as I want to go 1x10
