Not interested enough to waste time clicking on the links. If you'd written what they linked to it may have motivated me to look. But, what do you care?

However, for your benefit, not necessarily in the right order, 633 Squadron, Dambusters, Battle of Britain, The Magnificent 7 & For a Few Dollars More.

"Natural Born Killers" sountrack, as a whole, and L7's "Shitlist" in particular.
Music from "The Social Network". In fact, any film music that Trent Reznor has ever made.
    A. R. Rahman's "Liberation" in all its variations, from "127 Hours".
"Into the Wild" soundtrack, by Eddie Vedder. (Listening to "Society" now, great lyrics.)
Music from "The Hours" and "Atonement".
Blimey, I could go on like this forever 8)

Way too many faves but here are some...

Vangelis' 'Bladerunner' soundtrack - the opening scene is cinematic gold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaR5wVL9x2I

Kelly's Heroes 'Burning Bridges' - and the Lalo Shifrin soundtrack is ace - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doeJSspVL5Y

John Carpenter 'Assualt on Precinct 13' openeing theme (and the whole soundtrack) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNfDSNG7Y0g

Francis Monkman's score to the 'Long Good Friday' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5NGLBw4zuI

I love the soundtrack to 'Manhunter' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b1m-_sI8Is

Of the new stuff 'Drive' had a good score but James Newton Howard's music for 'Michael Clayton' was superb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGZTrE070tk

Plenty of time to post a 2 line reply however!! Whinge Whine Whinge :lol:
  • Like anything by Lalo Schrifin - Bullitt stands out.

As much as Burt Bacharach's stuff sounds dated and very cheesy 60's a lot of it is complex, well put together and features great musicians - especially Herb Alpert in Casino Royale.

Last of the Mohicans always sticks in my mind.

Moby's song 'Extreme Ways' in the Bourne film is great.

    So many more...

This is an excellent example of something that happens on here a lot. Someone replies to a post by saying almost exactly the same thing as someone else has already replied. In this case, staggeringly, quoting the identical post with their own.

Anyway, I'm going for the Scott Joplin inspired score of 'The Sting' or Hans Zimmer's 'True Romance'.

Or practically anything by John Williams, 'Jaws' springs immediately to mind.

In fact, there are sh@t loads, aren't there?

No mention of John Barry yet?

I'll plump for this, as it's one of my favourite films and the music really adds something to it:

    Pulp Fiction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5OHrQYwRac

Surely James Bond and Mission Impossible deserve a place together with the Pink Panther?

Surprised there's been no mention of The Great Escape as well.

Does Baber's Adagio For Strings count http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34mNg12vg6Q ? Probably my favourite piece of classical music and perfectly used in the film.

Someone sent me a digital download of Roy Budd's score to the above recently. I'd post a link to it here, but due to the size of the file and the poor sound quality, probably not worth the effort. In other words, "it's a big file, but it's in bad shape".

    I'll get me coat.

'Into the Wild' seconded. I was never a big fan of Pearl Jam, so was quite suprised to enjoy this.

I'm also partial to a bit of Clint Mansell. His work on 'Moon' fitted the film really well. Basil Poledouris' work is worth a nod, although it can get tiresome trying to justify the sheer greatness of the 'Conan the Barbarian' score to plebs and the uninitiated. Bernard Herrmann is also bloody fantastic for 'Taxi Driver' alone; never mind the work he did with Hitchcock.
