what bike to buy

Hi everyone, quite desperate for a bit of advice, i really want to get in to mountain biking but am on quite a tight budget. Therefore need a bit of help choosing which bike to buy, have found a "huffy liberator 2011" for just under £150 on a clearance section of an online seller, is this a decent enough bike for entry level or should i look for something else, thanks in advance.

Assuming the Huffy Liberator is the same one as I just googled, then steer clear. Generally any 'suspension' at that price is more trouble than it's worth: heavy, undamped, high-maintenance and so on. You'd genuinely be better off with no suspension at all unless you can add another few hundred pounds to your budget. What is the absolute top of your budget?

I wouldn't go near it. Heavy, undamped suspension, looks like a 7 speed screw on freewheel, old fashioned quill stem.
